Our story

Bifodan is an innovative and reliable supplier of finished probiotic solutions of high quality and documented stability. Our products are classified and documented as dietary food supplements and our customers are B2B nutritional/dietary supplement distributors, pharmacy chains, and drugstores worldwide.

Bifodan was founded in 1992 by the Danish dairy cooperative, Enigheden. Enigheden was the first Danish dairy to work with probiotics, and also the first to market a branded yogurt product with lactobacillus acidophilus in 1938, A-38® . Rooted in our long-standing experience and knowledge about probiotic research, development and processing, we reach for the sky as we continue to apply our technology platform and know-how to the benefit our partners.

For more than 25 years Bifodan has been dedicated to probiotics and on optimizing the complicated processing of probiotic bacteria. Based on clinically documented probiotic strains, we develop innovative formulations and dosage forms that satisfy true market needs and offer our solutions for private label marketing worldwide.

Steen offers more than 25 years of business and organizational development as well as commercial experience from global companies within the dietary supplement, ingredient and fine chemicals industry.
